ycombinator · x · 2026-08-02
Zenorocha, founder of email API service Resend, reflects that much of the company's success comes down to pure luck.
He admits that if they hadn't started in 2023 when LLMs were just taking off, the story would be very different. Launching just two months after ChatGPT, Resend capitalized on a new generation of builders. These developers ship products in days rather than months, preferring to copy a snippet and move on instead of configuring SMTP servers.
