SeedVR 2 Tested: Upscales 300x200 Images Flawlessly, But Struggles with Low-Quality Inputs

A Reddit user tested the image upscaling model SeedVR 2 and found its capabilities astonishing: it can upscale a tiny 60,000-pixel (300x200) high-quality image to a 2000-pixel resolution while almost perfectly preserving fine details like faces.

However, the author points out a limitation: it only works well on images that were originally of good quality. For inherently low-quality or AI-generated poor images, SeedVR cannot magically reconstruct the 'essence' of high-quality details. This reveals the current technical boundary of super-resolution models between 'extracting clear features' and 'hallucinating reconstruction'.
