Bittensor subnet project Quasar faces severe plagiarism allegations. Community member Const publicly revealed that 96% of its weights are identical to the open-source model Ling-mini-base-2.0-20T, raising doubts about whether they trained the model at all, alongside accusations of insider self-mining.
Following the fallout, major investor 5GurL dumped nearly 3,000 TAO tokens, causing a price cascade of over 60%. Quasar's founder, Troy Quasar, pledged to prove the model's legitimacy within two days or leave Bittensor entirely.
