Information-Theory Preprint Challenges Genomic Blueprint, Drawing AI Optimization Parallels

A preprint paper suggests that an organism does not contain enough information to fully specify its own microscopic molecular organization. This challenges the 70-year-old metaphor of the genome as an executable script or blueprint.
A commenter drew parallels to AI and robotics: just as we don't script every neuron activation or trajectory but instead specify architectures, objectives, and constraints to let optimization and physics do the rest, biology might be doing something fundamentally similar on a vastly richer substrate.
