Judge Denies xAI's Request to Block Minnesota's AI Nudification Ban
ArtificialOther · x · 2026-08-01
A federal judge denied Elon Musk's xAI request to pause Minnesota's first-in-the-nation ban on AI nudification technology, allowing the law to go into effect. The judge noted xAI delayed bringing the motion and failed to show immediate harm. Although the court declined to pause the law now, a hearing for a preliminary injunction is scheduled for August 19. xAI had argued the law violates First Amendment free speech protections.
