Dev builds open-source desktop widget framework Weaver on Vercel Native, using 7B tokens

SIGKITTEN · x · 2026-08-01

Developer daradoescode shared on X that he built Weaver, an open-source desktop widget framework for Mac and Windows, in about 2 weeks, based on Vercel's Native platform. Features include .tsx with Tailwind-like syntax without Electron or WebView, agent-first design with 'weaver check' for static error detection and hot reload, crash-isolated widget logic, and a declarative permission system. Still improving performance, adding primitives, and planning shareable widgets with agentic remixes. The author mentioned spending 7 billion tokens in the past month, thanks to open-source programs from OpenAI and Greptile.
