xAI has officially launched Grok Build, a CLI coding agent now powered by the new Grok 4.5 model.
Key features include:
- Plan Mode: Generates an architectural plan for complex tasks before execution. All edits are blocked until approved, with clean diffs provided.
- Skills & Plugins: Supports AGENTS.md, MCP servers, and hooks out of the box. Users can capture sessions as new skills via /skillify and share capabilities through a plugin marketplace.
- Automated Workflows: Users demonstrated that the agent can handle tedious tasks end-to-end, such as extracting frames from a video URL and generating a collage automatically.
