Fei-Fei Li's WorldLabs Acquires SceniX: World Models Shift from Generation to Physical Simulation
量子位 · wechat · 2026-08-01
Fei-Fei Li's WorldLabs has acquired robotics simulation company SceniX and unveiled new Real-to-Sim-to-Real (R2S2R) results. This marks a pivot for world models, shifting focus from "generating realistic observation spaces" to "simulating the physical consequences of a robot's actions."
The article notes that a complete R2S2R pipeline requires integrating real-world data, world reconstruction, generative expansion, physical simulation, and real-robot feedback. Chinese company Wuwen Zhike proposes a similar closed-loop architecture: capturing physical priors from the real world, amplifying data distribution via generative models, and conducting physical deductions in a dual-space simulator for RL training.
The future metric for Physical AI data infrastructure will no longer be sheer data volume or visual realism, but the ability to convert real tasks into repeatedly trainable virtual worlds that continuously improve model capabilities.
