AI-Generated Code Faces Backlash: Poor Maintainability and Hidden Bugs

Startups claiming their AI agents produce error-free code to pitch code-rewriting services are facing industry pushback.

Developers point out that while coding LLMs trained extensively in RL environments might avoid obvious bugs in the short term, the generated code suffers from poor maintainability and bad architecture. Furthermore, because agentic code is trained on human code, it not only inherits existing vulnerabilities but also introduces new, harder-to-spot errors and security issues.
