Ex-OpenAI Researcher's Hedge Fund Plummets 67% in a Month

Ex-OpenAI researcher Leopold Aschenbrenner's hedge fund lost about 67% of its value this month due to heavy leveraged losses on AI stocks, WSJ reports.
The fund had swelled from a few hundred million dollars to over $20 billion in roughly two years, as investors viewed him as an AI oracle and copied his trades. Facing margin calls during the July selloff, the firm sold the bulk of its stock portfolio to Citadel and attempted to move a $3.5B stake in Anthropic to investors led by Greenoaks and Sequoia.
