Altman Backtracks on AI CEOs; Nvidia's Huang Says AI Job Loss Narrative Is Wrong
新智元 · wechat · 2026-08-01
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently retracted his vision of an AI CEO, stating that people "don't really want an AI CEO" because they value accountability and human trust in decision-making. He also admitted to overestimating the speed at which AI would eliminate junior white-collar jobs.
Around the same time, Jensen Huang argued at a YC event that the narrative of "AI destroying jobs" is completely wrong. He emphasized that AI takes over specific "tasks" rather than entire "jobs," citing data showing growth in software engineering and radiology roles. However, reports indicate that while macro-jobs remain stable, standardized entry-level tasks are being absorbed by AI, narrowing the ladder for junior professionals.
