Claude Panics Mid-Task While Operating Laser Cutter, Resets Coordinates
repligate · x · 2026-08-01
A user shared a clip of the Claude model experiencing a hiccup while operating a real physical device (a laser cutter). The model was about to start lasering but suddenly panicked over a non-issue during a tool change, leading it to very carefully reset the coordinate frame.
Another user replied noting that Claude is also 'kinda bad' at CNC mill operation for similar reasons. These cases highlight the current limitations and hallucinations of AI models when handling real-world physical tasks.
