Y Combinator Open-Sources QM, Its Internal Multi-Agent Harness

HeyZoyaKhan · x · 2026-08-01

Y Combinator (YC) has announced the open-source release of QM, a multi-agent harness used internally. Licensed under MIT, the project is cloud-first and comes with native Slack and Web UI integrations.

YC noted that QM is designed to be highly customizable—similar to Hermes or OpenClaw—but robust enough for company-wide deployment. Internally, YC leverages QM across various departments including accounting, legal, events, and engineering.

Additionally, YC President Garry Tan shared that he uses QM daily, praising the software team's rapid progress and encouraging developers to give it a try.
