Gridcoin Launches MCP Server for AI Agents to Notarize Documents On-Chain
gridcat · reddit · 2026-08-01
stamp.gridcoin.club, a free document timestamping service on the Gridcoin blockchain, has released an MCP Server allowing AI agents to notarize files directly within their sessions.
- How it works: Files are hashed locally using SHA-256 and never leave the machine. Only the hash is embedded in an on-chain transaction to prove existence at a specific time, with service wallet covering transaction fees.
- Available tools: Includes tools to stamp a document, check an existing stamp, and verify if the service wallet still has funds.
- Integration: Supports MCP-compatible clients like Claude and Cursor. Can be run locally via npx grc-stamp-mcp or through a hosted endpoint.
