Scholar Calls for Strict 3-5 Paper Limit per Author at Overloaded AI Conferences
AjdDavison · x · 2026-08-01
Top AI and computer vision conferences are facing severe paper overload. Ajd Davison points out that while the idea of capping the number of papers an individual can submit is gaining traction (e.g., at ICLR), current limits like 20 papers per author remain ineffective.
He argues for a much stricter cap of 3 to 5 co-authored papers per conference to improve the overall quality of peer reviewing and restore the health of the academic publishing ecosystem.
