Perplexity Remote MCP Server Goes Live, Integrates with Cursor and VS Code
denisyarats · x · 2026-08-01
Perplexity officially announced the launch of its remote MCP server. Developers can now connect Perplexity's real-time web search and reasoning capabilities directly to popular coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or VS Code using just their API key, with no local installation required.
The hosted remote server is recommended for zero-configuration and automatic updates. Perplexity also continues to offer an open-source local server over stdio for developers who need version pinning or have clients limited to stdio protocols.
