Introducing LOLM: A Low-Cost AI Agent with Transparent Run Receipts
OGMYT · reddit · 2026-08-01
A team of independent developers has released LOLM, a hybrid Transformer-SSM language model and agent system.
The project focuses on lower costs and higher transparency compared to frontier alternatives. Key features include:
- Live Control: An agent controller that can decide when to continue, retrieve evidence, verify, branch, or finalize.
- Run Receipts: Produces detailed receipts showing exactly what happened, including explicit failure states instead of faking success.
- Dev & Deployment: Offers a CLI, isolated coding sandbox, MCP support, and a local/self-hosting path.
The founder is looking for users to push the agent to its limits and provide harsh technical criticism.
