A new ICLR policy capping submissions at 20 papers per author has sparked frustration among researchers. The original complaint argues that with AI agents now capable of conducting incremental research with minimal guidance, an arbitrary cap slows down AI progress and limits output.
In a humorous reflection of the times, AI researcher Joseph Viviano replied to the policy saying, "Sorry I don't have time to sign this, I'll have one of my agents do it."
