Paper Cap Impact: Analysis Shows 5-Submission Limit Could Block 22% of Papers
AlexGDimakis · x · 2026-08-01
Addressing the recent debate over submission caps at top AI conferences, a researcher used a coding agent to quantify the potential impact of the new policy.
The analysis indicates that a strict 5-submission cap per author would block at least 4,314 (22%) of submissions, assuming strategic authors try to maximize their total output. A conservative upper bound estimates that up to 51% (around 10,105) of submissions could be affected, highlighting the massive impact of this policy on academic publishing.
