Engineer Rants: Current Sandbox and Agent Environment Abstractions Are Universally Unusable

Google engineer rakyll tweeted about the pain points in current AI coding and agent development infrastructure. She noted that while there is much discussion about sandboxed compute runtimes, there is a severe lack of good "higher-level abstractions."
Specifically calling out environment abstractions in agent frameworks, she argued that existing solutions are mostly narrow and universally unusable. She asked her audience, "Am I completely incorrect?" to spark discussion on improving this bottleneck in agent engineering.
