Google Cancels Standalone AI Studio App, Merges Capabilities into Gemini

Google software engineer Ammaar announced that despite receiving over 800,000 pre-orders for the AI Studio mobile app, the team has decided to pivot. Instead of requiring users to download a separate app, the capability to build personal software will be integrated directly into everyday conversations with Gemini. The company will continue to invest in the AI Studio web experience for developers looking to turn ideas into businesses.
