Claude Code Suspected Cross-Device Sync Bug Leaks Office PC Files
invabun · reddit · 2026-08-01
A developer reported an anomalous behavior in Claude Code that suggests a potential cross-device syncing or remote control bug.
Using the same Claude account on two different machines (office PC and home PC), the developer suddenly saw their office session load while working at home. Furthermore, Claude was able to read and reference local files and directories that only exist on the office computer, failing to recognize the home PC's project structure. The session disappeared after restarting the client.
This raises security concerns about whether local project context can inadvertently attach to remote sessions, and how to manage and revoke active sessions.
