Tech commentator niccarter pushed back against bear cases claiming "AI is too expensive," arguing that the cost per unit of intelligence is plummeting.

Citing data from nicdunz, he pointed out that GPT-5.4 (at xhigh) scores 51, exactly matching Luna max today. However, while GPT-5.4 costs $2.50/$15, Luna is priced at just $0.20/$1.20. This means that in roughly four months, OpenAI is selling March’s full flagship-level intelligence at approximately one-thirteenth of the token price.
