smolix · x · 2026-08-01
Developer @smolix reported that Anthropic's Claude has seen a significant degradation in its English writing style. The model's output has acquired a number of tics and clichés that require serious manual editing to remove for human readability. He suggested this might be a side effect of optimizing for benchmarks, which ultimately makes the language hideous for humans to read.
