NVIDIA Unveils Neural Harmonic Textures: Surpassing 3DGS in 3D Reconstruction Quality
pixlpa · x · 2026-08-01
NVIDIA Research, in collaboration with USI, introduced Neural Harmonic Textures (NHT), a novel neural representation for high-quality primitive-based reconstruction. By anchoring learnable feature vectors to virtual bounding tetrahedra and applying periodic activations inspired by Fourier analysis, NHT significantly enhances the modeling of high-frequency details.
Experiments demonstrate that NHT achieves state-of-the-art results in real-time novel view synthesis, outperforming leading methods like ZipNeRF and 3DGS derivatives across all benchmarks. The method bridges the gap between primitive-based and neural-field representations. The code is open-sourced under Apache 2.0, with the paper accepted to ECCV 2026.
