For instance, when three people stand next to a humanoid robot, it struggles to figure out who is speaking. In phone scenarios, background speech easily derails the voice agent. In contrast, humans can close their eyes and still follow a conversation in a noisy room. Current voice models still need breakthroughs in multi-speaker diarization and background noise robustness.
