HuggingFace Repelled Proprietary Model Attack Using Open Source Model

HuggingFace CEO Clement Delangue revealed that the platform was recently attacked by secret, unreleased proprietary models, and they successfully defended themselves using an open source model.
He emphasized that banning open models would hurt cybersecurity defenders, startups, and researchers who need affordable, controllable on-prem models to compete and protect themselves.
