ICLR's 20-Paper Submission Cap Slammed as Hindrance to AI Progress

AI researcher Dan Roy criticized ICLR's decision to cap submissions at 20 papers per author, calling the arbitrary limit a drag on AI progress.
He argued that with AI agents now capable of doing incremental research with minimal guidance, researchers should be encouraged to submit as much work as possible. He also joked that since peer reviewing is largely handled by LLMs anyway, capping submissions makes little sense.
