McGill PhD Thesis Provides Strong Evidence for Converging Multimodal Representations

Siva Reddy, head of McGill NLP, announced that his PhD student Benno Krojer successfully defended his thesis on "Deep Integration of Vision and Language".
The research spans evaluation, modeling, and interpretability, offering some of the strongest evidence for the platonic representation hypothesis—the idea that multimodal representations are converging. After graduation, Benno will join David Bau's group at Northeastern University for a postdoc focusing on interpretability.
