OpenAI Codex Feature Request: Sync Conversations Between Desktop App and CLI

A feature request has been filed in the OpenAI Codex repository asking for cross-surface conversation continuity between the Codex desktop app and Codex CLI.
Currently, users typically plan projects and retain context in the desktop app, then switch to the CLI within the same local repository for terminal execution. Because the two surfaces are disconnected, users must manually copy summaries and decisions, leading to duplicated context, wasted tokens, and potential implementation mistakes.
Desired capabilities:
- Make CLI sessions discoverable in the desktop app when started from a matching local project.
- Allow viewing of CLI transcripts from the desktop app and seamless task handoff between surfaces.
- Clearly label tasks by origin (App, CLI, or Cloud) and display the associated repository path and Git branch.
