DeepSeek-V4-Flash Released: Flagship Performance at 1/100th the Cost
TheZachMueller · x · 2026-07-31
DeepSeek officially announced the public beta of its V4-Flash model API. The new version significantly upgrades Agent capabilities, natively supports the Responses API format, and is fully adapted for Codex, with benchmark scores far surpassing the previous V4-Pro-Preview.
Industry KOL Emad Mostaque reposted with high praise, noting the model achieved massive performance gains purely through post-training. It is 3x smaller than GLM 5.2 and runs locally on a MacBook. Most striking is its cost-efficiency: it delivers Q1 flagship-level performance for less than $0.28 per million tokens, which is 100x cheaper.
