Qlayers Robots Replace Hazardous Manual Labor, 6x Faster Tank Coating
lukas_m_ziegler · x · 2026-07-31
Coating storage tanks to prevent corrosion is a brutal and dangerous job, requiring workers to climb heights and breathe toxic fumes. Qlayers has introduced a semi-automated robot to replace this task. The robot eliminates the need for workers to operate at dangerous heights, dramatically reducing exposure to hazardous paint fumes. Additionally, it can coat 200 square meters per hour—six times faster than manual rolling—turning a multi-day job into one that takes just hours.
