Andrew Ng on AI-Era Teams: Small, High-Context Generalists Beat Bureaucracy

Andrew Ng recently shared his insights on organizing engineering teams for the AI era. He points out that as AI dramatically accelerates code generation, organizational structure and processes often become the bottleneck.
Once a feature can go from idea to prototype in a day, surrounding functions like product, design, marketing, and legal must also speed up. To achieve this, he advocates for small teams of 1-10 people composed of "high-context, highly empowered generalists." Such teams can make decisions and move forward quickly without needing translations across departments.
