Decoy Font Tricks Vision AI: Humans See Truth, Models Read Lies
heypearlai · x · 2026-07-31
Mixfont released Decoy Font, a free TTF font designed to mislead AI vision models.
- How it works: Each letter stacks two characters. The top layer is a crisp 'decoy', while the bottom is a soft, blurred 'real' letter. Humans see the decoy up close but the real text when stepping back.
- AI Vulnerability: Vision models like ChatGPT and Gemini process images pixel-by-pixel without a 'step back' mechanism. In tests, they consistently read the decoy text as the actual message.
This offers a novel approach for adversarial anti-scraping protection.
