Google DeepMind Dismantles AlphaFold Team, Redirects Researchers to Gemini

Google DeepMind has decided to dismantle its dedicated AlphaFold team, reassigning the researchers to the Gemini project and other scientific endeavors. This move signals a strategic shift in the company's AI resource allocation.
However, the AlphaFold tool itself and its massive protein structure database will remain available for public use.
