Amazon's latest earnings report reveals AWS revenue hit $42.2 billion, beating the $40.5 billion estimate. Executives stated on the earnings call that the industry is still in the early stages of AI demand, with capacity largely reserved through 2027 and into 2028.

Driven by rising memory costs, Amazon now projects approximately $220 billion in cash capital expenditures for 2026, up from the prior $200 billion estimate. The company expects AI profit margins and returns to track ahead of the early core cloud computing evolution.
