Cure AI Design Slop: Open-Source Rules File for Cursor & Claude UIUX

SteepLikeAMountain · reddit · 2026-07-31

When vibe-coding with AI, models tend to fill unspecified design decisions with the average of their training data, resulting in a generic "AI look" (e.g., purple gradients, three-card rows, rounded-2xl everything).

To fix this, the author cataloged these design tells and created a drop-in rules file. By renaming it to CLAUDE.md, .cursorrules, or AGENTS.md, your agent will automatically design against these defaults. The rules encourage making a real decision over a reflex rather than imposing a blanket ban.
