Meta Proposes OneShot Retrieval Framework, Deployed in Instagram
_reachsumit · x · 2026-07-31
Meta has introduced OneShot, an end-to-end retrieval framework designed to resolve the long-standing misalignment between ranking accuracy and indexing efficiency in recommendation systems.
While traditional methods are fundamentally limited by the dot-product retrieval bottleneck, OneShot natively aligns index learning with ranking objectives, enabling neural scoring beyond dot-products. The framework is now fully deployed in Instagram's industrial-scale short-video recommendation system.
