DeepMind Launches Gemini Robotics 2: Enabling Whole-Body Intelligence and Multi-Robot Collaboration

Google DeepMind has introduced Gemini Robotics 2, an intelligence layer powering the next generation of adaptable robots. The major advance unlocks intelligent whole-body control, advanced dexterity, and multi-robot collaboration, enabling humanoids to reason through movements and complete complex tasks like cleaning a room.
The release includes three highly capable models. The on-device variant, the smallest in the family, allows for fast adaptation, requiring fewer than 200 episodes to fine-tune and solve new tasks on entirely new embodiments.
Researchers noted that this is the largest frontier-level action model trained to date. Multi-fingered hands have now matched and surpassed traditional bimanual grippers, signaling a major paradigm shift in the field of robotic dexterity.
