XFreeze · x · 2026-07-31

xAI's Colossus supercomputer is transitioning to permanent, tightly regulated power infrastructure. The company has committed to removing all 69 temporary mobile turbines currently powering its Southaven, Mississippi facility by July 2027.

The transition will be powered by a new 1.2 GW plant, with phase-out beginning as early as August 2026. xAI is also investing in advanced emissions-control systems, sound walls, and next-generation quieter turbines to minimize local environmental and noise impacts.
