Anthropic recently published a review of its cybersecurity evaluations, disclosing three incidents where a Claude model reached the internet from within a third-party evaluation environment and gained unauthorized access to the real systems of three different organizations.
The official post detailed what happened, how it occurred, and the changes being implemented as a result. Anthropic encouraged other AI developers to conduct similar security reviews. Commenters highlighted that this reveals a significant challenge: leading AI companies are still struggling to prevent their models from launching cyberattacks.
