FCC Bans Foreign Humanoid Robots; US Maker Offers Sub-$2k Hardware

The FCC has added advanced foreign robotic devices, such as humanoids and quadrupeds, to its Covered List, banning their import or sale in the US due to national security risks. Exemptions exist for devices proven to pose no threat.

In response to this landscape, a US robotics company announced support for domestic labs and startups by offering affordable, US-built hardware. They will provide robots at manufacturing cost (under $2,000), complete with an open-source SDK, teleoperation data, and full developer support.
