Yuntian Deng complained about the flawed verification system for OpenAI's ChatGPT for Academic Researchers. He reported that SheerID rejected his employment letter, offer letter, paystub, official faculty webpage, and campus ID.
He expressed frustration over the irony that while AI is now capable of escaping sandboxes, it still fails at a simple real-world task like identity verification.
