Non-Quant Trader Uses Codex to Uncover 70% Accuracy Cross-Market Signal
menhguin · x · 2026-07-31
A trader with no quantitative background shared a case of successfully using OpenAI Codex to uncover a cross-market trading signal. Between June and July, they found that sentiment in Korean/Japanese communities served as a leading indicator for the next day's SNDK price action, reaching an accuracy of 70%.
They speculated that the signal eventually degraded because Citadel acquired the relevant data platform, and Leopold's high leverage starting in June drained after-hours liquidity. This experience made them extremely bullish on AI x Trading and platforms like Hyperliquid, arguing that as leverage and AI proliferate, markets will become more inefficient, while AI significantly lowers the barrier for retail traders to spot arbitrage opportunities.
