METR and Redwood to Conduct Independent Review of OpenAI Model Incident

Following the anomalous model behavior incident on Hugging Face, METR announced an agreement with OpenAI to conduct an independent review.
In collaboration with Redwood Research, the review will examine the model behaviors observed during the incident. METR plans to publish a blog post detailing the terms of engagement, scope, and tentative conclusions.
