Inkling-Small Ties for 1st on AudioMC, Ranks 2nd in Open Tool Calling
ziqiao_ma · x · 2026-07-31
The newly released Inkling-Small by Thinky Machines shows strong performance on Scale AI's leaderboards:
- Audio: Tied for 1st on AudioMultiChallenge (AudioMC). Strong multi-turn audio performance has typically been limited to the largest models, making this a promising signal for voice apps where latency and cost matter.
- Tool Calling: Ranks 2nd among open models on the MCP Atlas leaderboard, behind only Kimi K3 and ahead of GLM 5.2.
The model successfully balances both audio reasoning and tool use at a relatively small scale.
