According to Bloomberg, DeepSeek plans to build a new data center campus in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia, and lease additional capacity, targeting 1GW by late 2027 or early 2028. The project would be larger than any current Chinese AI facility but smaller than US 3-5GW campuses. A comment suggests Anthropic may reach 9-10GW by end of 2027. Chinese rival Z.AI is also pursuing a 1GW project using only domestic chips.
