Inkling-Small Released: Matches Original Performance at 1/4 the Size
arshdeep · x · 2026-07-31
The development team has officially released the Inkling-Small model. With 276B total parameters and 12B active parameters, it achieves performance comparable to the original Inkling at just a quarter of its size.
Engineers noted that the release was highly routine due to the reuse of their existing pipeline. Although Inkling-Small has already benefited from minor improvements, the team emphasized that there is still significant performance headroom left in the tank. Users can now fine-tune the model on Tinker or interact with it via text, image, and audio in the Tinker Playground.
