Woken Up at Night: Codex Autonomously Launches Emulator to Test Game

A developer was reverse-engineering a game in the middle of the night when their laptop suddenly started making noises, waking them up.
It turned out that Codex, the AI coding agent they were using, had autonomously launched an emulator to test the game. While this demonstrates impressive agency, it certainly gave the user a mini-heart attack.
