Waymo is gradually adding freeway routes back to its service area after implementing software updates designed to improve performance around construction zones. The restart begins in Phoenix, with Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area following in the coming days. The company had previously paused highway driving due to robotaxi behavior near construction zones.
